This DV6 Matte Black laptop key replacement will work with ALL versions of the DV6. NOTE: There are 3 version of the Matte Black keyboard, and the easiest way to identify your version is to look at the color of the hinge clip, if your regular key hinge is black then you most likely have version HC12, HC29 and HC30 both has 4 metal prongs, but with opposite prong configuration.

1. Identify Hinge Clip Style
The hinge clip is the plastic scissor clip that swivels up and down underneath the keyboard key cap. It is usually either black or white and functions as the part that holds the back of he key to the keyboard.
Manufacturers often use different keyboard vendors during production and each vendor has its own unique type of hinge clip. Compare the chart and identify the version that matches. You will fill this info in Step 2 above.

NOTE:The default color of the keyboard we show is black. If your model comes in different colors and we have it in stock, it will be available in the color section above.
INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS: Our standard keyboard layout is QWERTY (shown below). If you have a different language layout the key cap and hinge clips are still interchangeable. If the key cap shape does not match or you require a different language layout please contact us before ordering.

Just what I needed!
I've ordered a few of these replacement key clips--I guess I'm kind of hard on the ole backspace key! The first time I ordered, they were out of stock of the key itself, and so they emailed me right away to ask if they could send me two clips instead. That was perfect! My key was fine, but the clip was broken. About a year later, when I broke the clip again, I requested extra clips and no keys, and, despite the fact that ordering it this way wasn't an option on the site, they still sent me three clips for the price of two key-clip combos. I'm thoroughly satisfied with the product and the service! Highly recommend!

Replacement key works great!
