Apple used different butterfly keyboard generations. These replacement keys use the second-generation butterfly mechanism found on compatible Late 2016–2018 MacBook Pro models. First-generation butterfly keycaps and hinge clips have different dimensions and attachment points and will not fit correctly.

New N Key
I ordered a replacement N key for my MacBook Pro. The key looked the same as the original; however, the website does not have a good video showing how to replace the key. As a result, I ended up breaking the butterfly part. Also, the part that is under the butterfly came off and won't stick again. Now the key just falls off. There are no instructions on how to glue that part back down. Looks like I'm going to have to order another N key and try again.
